Arif Alvi President of Pakistan
Doctor Arif ur Rehman Alvi is the current elected President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He assumed office on September 8, 2018. Dr. Arif Alvi was elected president of Pakistan in Presidential election, Arif Alvi secured 352 votes, Fazal ur Rehman bagged 184, while Aitzaz Ahsan Ahsan received 124 votes. He is affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf. He is one of founding member of PTI. He was elected as member of National Assembly of Pakistan in general election 2013 from NA-250 Karachi and re-elected to the member of National Assembly from Constituency NA-247 Karachi South in the general election 2018.

Dr. Arif Alvi was born August 29, 1949 in Karachi Sindh Pakistan. His father Doctor Habib ur Rehman Elahi Alvi was a dentist . Doctor Arif Alvi received his early education from Karachi Grammar School. He received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from De Montmorency College of Dentistry Lahore. He completed his master's degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1975. He received a master degree in orthodontics from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco California USA. After completing his education he started practicing as dental surgeon in Karachi.
